5 reasons XPT Crystal Peak is a can’t-miss for every high performer

Having participated in countless fitness retreats, what stands out to me about XPT is the intentionality behind everything they program. With input from, without exaggeration, the world’s most elite athletes, scientists, and military personnel, everything they do is designed for maximum impact. I can’t wait to be part of XPT’s first Expedition — pairing a day of performance training with an epic summit up one of Breckenridge’s most famous peaks. Here are the 5 reasons why, if you care about your own performance, it should be at the top of your bucket list.

1. It’s designed to positively impact anyone, from elite athletes to mothers and ambitious business people.

Hiking to a near-14,000-foot peak is a very specific activity. But the tools you gain by taking on the challenge alongside XPT’s experts, paired with a day of holistic performance training, are applicable to anyone who cares about improving. Whether you’re a record-breaking athlete looking to gain an extra 1% on the competition, a mother looking for ways to be present in life while juggling a job and two kids, or a CEO whose focus (or lack thereof) could cost them millions, you’ll leave with universal tools for expanding your limits.

2. The 1% of the 1% created the program.

There are good coaches, and then there are people who’ve taken human performance to never-before-seen heights. XPT’s training methods were developed by Laird Hamilton — a pioneer in big-wave surfing, stand-up paddleboarding, e-foiling, and other ocean sports — and Gabby Reece, Nike’s first-ever female athlete. They’ve teamed up with leaders of the military’s most elite special operations divisions, groundbreaking breathwork scientists, body mechanics specialists, and physiology professors. The highest performers on earth created and consistently use every single technique you'll learn.

3. The feeling of checking off an epic outdoor challenge.

There’s something about completing an epic challenge in nature. Pushing past your perceived limits to hike over 11 miles at altitude, among the fresh air, trees, and blue skies, is the best kind of pain. There’s no better place to tap into your body’s most impactful function: the ability to adapt. Beyond telling people you completed XPT Crystal Peak, you’ll leave knowing that you could have said the altitude got to you, the distance was too great, or the sun was too hot, but you pushed through. That mental win spills over into every element of life.

4. Access to elite coaches like no other.

I mentioned the elite figures that designed the program. But the coaches who guide you are equally special. XPT’s Director of Performance and team of performance specialists take one of the most unique approaches to leadership and guidance I’ve seen. Everything focuses on helping you better understand yourself, and in turn, finding the points of weakness from which you can grow. They break down your performance into 5 pillars and help you identify which buckets you can fill to blow the roof off your perceived limits. They don’t care about crushing you. Everything is about being as efficient as possible to drive sustainable improvement.

5. New friends that make you better every day.

The kind of people who sign up for XPT make up a seemingly too-good-to-be-true group of high-performing friends. You meet people from all walks of life that share anecdotes about how they’ve achieved their own success, with no ego attached. Everyone is eager to leave much better than they came. And lasting relationships form — in business, in friendship, or just in everyday inspiration. The feeling of being around this group is magic.
